Trying to maintain joint health without relying on pharmaceutical drugs can be difficult. There are many improvements that can be accomplished with diet and exercise, but maintaining healthy joints or fighting an ailment that affects our joints will usually mean turning to painkillers or anti-inflammatory drugs that can have powerful and unwanted side effects.

There are a number of natural products on Joint Health Magazine that can help ease painful joints, and increase the health and performance of our joints.

Here is a quick guide to three of these products, the first of which is one of nature’s oldest joint healers, that can help ease your joint pains and improve the health of your joints.

Cod Liver Oil

For centuries, cod liver oil has been valued for its health properties. Incredibly rich in Omega-3 fatty acids, cod liver oil offers the body a number of benefits, but joint health is probably its most famous[1].

Many people begin taking cod liver oil regularly as they approach old age, but in truth you are never too young to start taking cod liver oil as a part of your health regimen.

Cod liver oil is available as a liquid to be taken from a spoon like cough medicine, or with the liquid contained in a capsule for those who do not like the taste.

Medical Marijuana

Across the country, medical marijuana has been legalized in some ways. Only a few states still do not allow the use of marijuana for medical purposes, so do check your local laws, but chances are you live in a medical marijuana state.

Marijuana has been associated with pain relief for a long time, and scientific studies on its benefits have led to its legalization for medical use[2].

Websites like bud can even deliver the product in various forms if you decide to use marijuana as a natural remedy to your joint problems.

CBD Oil

CBD, or cannabidiol, is one of marijuana’s active (but not psychoactive) ingredients. CBD oil has become a popular supplement for many people to take for all kinds of ailments and health concerns, even epilepsy and for recovery from cancer treatment.

CBD oil offers similar pain relief as medical marijuana, but also has anti-inflammatory properties[3]. Though present in medical marijuana, CBD oil is a concentrated form of the compound and offers much better results as an anti-inflammatory treatment.

Our joints are an important part of our body that often go overlooked. We need them to do pretty much everything, from walking and talking to picking up our cup of coffee in the morning.
