Menopause and Joint Pain – Why Do They Go Hand in Hand?

Menopause and joint pain seem to just go together. There are countless menopausal women out there that report problems with their joints. These issues are common, but there are reasons for that. Inflammation is one of the biggest links between menopause and joint pain. Inflammation can be set off by stress that you are experiencing, and what more stressful time could there be for a woman than menopause? It makes sense that Menopause and Joint Pain would come along together. There are other issues that may be involved though, but rest assured that there are solutions for all of this.

Menopause and Joint PainA hormonal imbalance is another link between menopause and joint pain. Estrogen is a natural anti-inflammatory chemical in the body. When estrogen levels begin to fall, the joint pain begins to appear. Combine this with the above mentioned stress, and menopause and joint pain do logically go together. While you can take some estrogen supplements to help combat that a little bit, there are better treatments out there for Menopause and Joint Pain. You can always talk to your doctor if you are worried about your problems, but some of the suggestion below may help you bypass that.

Your diet may greatly impact the amount of menopause and joint pain you go through. You can help yourself a lot by reducing the amount of sugars and carbohydrates you ingest. Weight can also worsen your menopause and joint Pain, so perhaps a diet isn’t a bad idea at all. Eat a lot of fruits and vegetables because they have a lot of anti-inflammatory ingredients that can ward off menopause and joint pain. You can also take a multivitamin to provide some of the same assistance. If you notice any food allergies as a result of this, talk to your doctor about alternatives you may have.

Eating fish can help with your Menopause and Joint Pain. Most fish are rich in omega-3s, which will decrease the amount of inflammation you experience. You must avoid fish rich in mercury though, so something like tilapia would be ideal for your menopause and joint pain. You can also take an omega-3 supplement. This will help you bypass the need to figure out which fish will work best for you. As a whole, staying healthy will provide a lot of relief for your menopause and joint Pain.
