Joint pain is not new to the ears at all. It is one of the most common complaints of people all over the world, especially elderly folks. There are various kinds of joint pains, depending on the area of the body. One of these is shoulder joint pain. Shoulder problems can occur to anyone, be it with men, women or children regardless of ethnic backgrounds and race.

Through time, more and more treatments have been created by experts to alleviate people from the discomfort of joint pains. But it is important to take note that treatments are merely the action made to address the problem and not a bar that keeps joint pains from getting into you. So it is imperative to know the causes of shoulder joint pains so treatments are directed on the root itself and so as to have a hint of what to avoid when it comes to shoulder pains.

Common Causes Shoulder Joint Pains

Unwinding the Loopholes of Shoulder Joint Pains

The shoulder is designed to function for mobility. When used in extreme activities, the risk for the shoulders to get an injury is increased. Injury is one of the causes of shoulder pains and can also lead to other diseases.

Frozen Shoulder. Another term that refers to this is “adhesive capsulitis”. This is a condition that could lead to the stiffness of the joint, further causing joint pain.

  • Dislocation. This is an injury that happens when the top arm bone gets detached to the scapula.
  • Shoulder Instability is where joints become loose. It can be a result of injury or another condition.
  • Rotator Cuff Tear is another cause of shoulder joint pains. In this condition, the tendons found at the rotator cuffs are disconnected from the bone.
  • Shoulder separation is an injury which happens when the acromioclavicular joint gets disrupted.
  • Bursitis. Also called “rotator cuff tendonitis”, this is the most common condition diagnosed in shoulder pain cases. What happens in this condition is that the bursa, a tiny fluid-filled sack that acts as friction reducer, gets inflamed resulting to complications including joint pains.
  • Calcific Tendonitis happens when calcium gets deposited in the tendon, giving out symptoms such as joint pain.
  • Shoulder Arthritis. It may occur to as to many people as knee and hip arthritis. Acquiring it is not impossible especially with people who goes through strenuous shoulder activities.
  • Radiculopathy, or pinched nerves, is a condition wherein the nerves or a nerve in the spine is/are ‘pinched’, which then results to the numbness, weakness and pain.
  • As has been mentioned, medical conditions that includes the following can also add up to the causes of shoulder joint pain:
    1. Gallbladder disease
    2. Heart Disease
    3. Lung Disease
    4. Liver Disease
    5. Disease of the gallbladder
    6. Cancer

The recommended action when it comes to treating joint pains is to seek the help of a doctor. But there are self-care methods you can do to prevent joint pains from getting into you. Prevention is always better than cure.
