Glucosamine Formula – Different Formulas for Different Bodies

Nancy Markowitz

Glucosamine is continuing to grow in popularity as a dietary supplement promoting joint health. It seems that there’s a new glucosamine formula out every day that’s supposed to relieve pain from osteoarthritis or increase mobility of afflicted joints. There many other supplements used in conjunction with glucosamine to alleviate joint Pain, and every unique glucosamine formula could be more effective for some people while being less effective for others. There’s no one glucosamine formula that works best for everyone; in order to find the best one for you, it’s probably a good idea to try a few and figure out which is the most effective.

Glucosamine FormulaThe most popular Glucosamine Formula is probably glucosamine chondroitin. It combines glucosamine with chondroitin sulfate, a compound that is a major structural component of cartilage. Chondroitin sulfate is responsible for cartilage’s resistance to compression, and many people have reported greater relief from arthritis pain when using a glucosamine formula that includes chondroitin sulfate. While you can also purchase chondroitin sulfate separately from glucosamine, many supplements offer a glucosamine formula that combines chondroitin sulfate with glucosamine. This is a great way to offer two pain relief measures instead of just one in the same dietary supplement.

Another popular component of a Glucosamine Formula is methylsulonylmethane, or MSM. MSM is a colorless solid that is chemically inert. It is believed to have anti-inflammatory properties when used in a biochemical context, and is another popular substance to pair with glucosamine in joint pain relief remedies. While studies of MSM as a dietary supplement are still inconclusive, many people have reported joint Pain relief and improvement in physical function, particularly in the knees, after taking a glucosamine formula including MSM. Long-term studies have yet to be conducted on the effectiveness of a glucosamine formula featuring MSM, but its short-term results are promising.

There are many different dietary supplements addressing joint pain on the market, each of them with its own unique Glucosamine Formula. Every person is unique, and some will respond better to one glucosamine formula than another. The only way to tell for sure which Glucosamine Formula will work best for you is to try it out for yourself. Whether it’s one featuring chondroitin sulfate, MSM, or even just glucosamine by itself, be sure to try out each combination for at least twelve weeks before you decide which one you will choose as your everyday joint pain reliever
