Forms of Arthritis- Understanding this Disease

Kathy Martin

There are a variety of different forms of arthritis out there. Because it is so common of a disease, there is a lot of ongoing research in hopes of finding a cure. However, many people today simply have to deal with the condition and try to find the best way to manage their pain and inflammation so that they can get on with their lives. Arthritis refers to any type of pain, inflammation, or swelling of the joints, muscles, or bones. There are so many forms of arthritis and their classifications are all based on where and how the pain occurs, as well as what causes it.

The forms of arthritis are all very different. For example, osteoarthritis is a bone disease and the most common type of arthritis. It involves pain and inflammation of the joints that is caused by age and deterioration. There is also rheumatoid arthritis, which is a condition that is caused by an autoimmune disorder. Fibromyalgia is another of the forms of arthritis, and this one affects the soft tissues, muscles, tendons, and ligaments. These forms of arthritis are the most common that you will find.

Other forms of arthritis that people suffer from include things like gout, ankylosing spondylitis, infectious arthritis, cervical arthritis and juvenile RA. All of these forms of arthritis have different causes and treatments, but none typically have cures. Even with infectious arthritis, the clearing of the infection doesn’t necessarily mean that the disease will actually go away after the fact. By taking the time to learn about all of the different forms of arthritis, however, you can be better prepared to deal with your own condition and find the right management plan that includes pain relief and possible therapy to help alleviate the constant pain and inflammation.

With so many different forms of arthritis out there, it is sometimes hard for people to find the best relief possible. However, by talking to your doctor and figuring out an effective treatment plan, it should be easy for you to get everything that you expect from your arthritis relief, no matter what forms of arthritis you might be dealing with. Do your research and learn about what forms of arthritis affect you and how they are best managed so that you can maintain your quality of life and spend less time dealing with pain. It’s all about being informed if you want to truly find the best relief.
