Back and Neck Pain – Healthy Lifestyles to Avoid Pain

Sharon Conroy

When you experience back and neck pain, there can be a number of causes. You should determine what the back and neck pain is being caused by so you and your doctor will know what the most effective method of treatment is. Over 30 million people suffer from pain in the back or neck, and in many cases, the pain is caused by lifestyle. A lot of people have jobs that require them to sit at a desk or computer all day long. When you don’t get enough exercise, the muscles become weaker.

For you to stay healthy and to avoid disintegration of the muscles, you have to get the proper amount of exercise. This can help to prevent back and neck pain. Proper exercise keeps your body working as efficiently as possible, and also helps to avoid back and neck pain. One of the ways in which you can avoid back and neck pain is to take brisk walks. This will help to strengthen your muscles and keep your circulatory system working as it should. You don’t have to walk for long periods, but it’s important to get out several times a week.

Another of the causes of back and neck pain may be poor nutrition. Most people don’t follow a healthy diet due to busy lifestyle, and usually eat on the run, especially during a busy work day. Most people think that they have to consistently eat a low fat diet in order to remain healthy. However, this can be the cause of some back and neck pain. Severe or chronic back and neck pain can be caused by not consuming enough fat. One of the ways to get sufficient fat in your diet is to take an Omega 3 supplement each day. You can also eat foods that are high in Omega 3 fatty acids to improve your health.

Another nutritional factor of back and neck pain is that a lot of people eat too many foods that are high in protein. When too much protein is consumed, it can contribute to ketoacidosis. When this condition occurs, you may develop chronic back and neck pain and arthritis. Another way in which many people develop chronic back and neck pain is due to stress and anxiety. When you are under a lot of stress, it can actually cause stress in the spine which may manifest as pain. By making some lifestyle changes, you can effectively eliminate your chronic pain and be healthier.
