Arthritis in Hip – What to Do If You Have Arthritis in Your Hip

Sharon Conroy

Arthritic pain can hit you just about anywhere that you have bone joints. The pain can be terrible and debilitating – causing you to not be able to do much of anything. This is especially true if you have arthritis in hip. People who have arthritis in hip find that every day life can be a constant challenge. Some days are good for people with arthritis in hip, but then some days are just horrible and they can barely get out of bed. The pain level can’t be predicted either. A person with arthritis in hip can have several very good days where the pain is at a manageable level, but then get hit with horrendous pain that causes them to not be able to get out of bed. It is a horrible and vicious cycle.

There are two main types of arthritis in hip: inflammatory and osteoarthritis. Within the inflammatory arthritis in hip category, the main subtype is called rheumatoid. Rheumatoid arthritis in hip will generally affect both sides of the hip at the same time and is actually the most common form of arthritis in hip. Osteoarthritis, however, is different. Instead of causing inflammatory type pain, it causes deep pain because of how the bone joints are being worn down from not being protected. When the cartilage between the bone joints in this case wears down completely, the bones rub together. As you can imagine, this is quite painful to experience.

Before you can determine for sure that you have arthritis in hip, you will need to go for an evaluation with your doctor. Once there, your doctor will do a thorough check-up in order to see if you really do have arthritis in hip. The doctor will more than likely do some further tests just to be sure that it really is arthritis in hip before completing the diagnosis. Be assured that, even if you do have arthritis in hip, it is not the end of the world and there are a lot of treatment options available to you for your condition.

There are several different types of herbal supplements that you can take to help treat your arthritis in hip. Just be sure to check with your doctor before you take any supplements for your arthritis in hip, especially if your doctor has you on something else. Your arthritis in hip diagnosis does not have to be the end of your good days, but be prepared for whatever the arthritis in hip condition will throw at you.
